Our plan to celebrate our 100 years
We have planned several initiatives to recognise and celebrate our 100 years of service to our community, including:
1. The Brigade will be publishing a 100 year book, researched and authored by Mr Colin Fisher OAM of the Mornington and District Historical Society.
2. The Brigade will be making a special contribution to the Mornington Peninsula Shire's Australia Day in Mornington on Thursday 26th January 2017, which will include:
-
Brigade members and fire museum fire trucks will lead the Australia Day parade along Main street to Mornington Park,
-
CFA Chief Officer will partake in the flag raising ceremony in Mornington Park, and address the public re the brigade centenary,
-
A multi-brigade torchlight procession from Mornington Park to Mornington Pier
3. The brigade will be holding an Open Day at the fire station on Saturday 28th January 2017 to allow the community an opportunity to engage with brigade members, tour the fire station facilities, inspect the historical fire museum fire trucks and the current brigade fire appliances
and equipment, view special memorabilia that will be on display, and purchase the brigade 100 year book and various merchandise.
4. The Brigade will be constructing a Brigade 100 year Community Wall and inviting members of the community to make a small donation to the brigade to have their name displayed as a sponsor of the wall in recognition of the brigade 100 years.
I encourage you to please click on the various weblinks above for more information on what we have planned, and to get involved in any way you can to help celebrate our Brigade 100 year milestone.
Thank you
